If I download the borg binary from its Github repository releases, it will be useful if we could define path to the binary in the configuration file. Or we can use a general config file under ~/.config/borgmatic.

Good news! You can do that already via the local_path option within the location section of borgmatic's configuration file. Let me know if that works for you.
